Twenty-eight centimetres of black-stained ash. A cook's mill: long enough to grind straight into a pan without putting your hand over the heat, and heavy enough at the base that it does not tip when you set it down in a hurry.

It is too tall for most laid tables and will look wrong there. That is what the 15cm is for.
